Summerland Maternity Session
Today we have a goreous Maternity session to share with you thanks to Summerland Photography. I am SO in love with the natural backdrop used for this session, along with the stunning glow on this mommy-to-be's face. I will now turn things over to photographer Sandy Summers Russell to tell you a little bit about this beautiful session...
{I adore photographing maternity sessions. I think every woman should be professionally photographed at least once while pregnant. There is no greater time in a women’s life where she can completely embrace her strong and beautiful body and the tiny miracle she’s bringing into the world. Although it may feel like forever when you’re pregnant, in truth, it’s such a brief moment. Having maternity images captured helps you look back and remember it long after your little baby has grown up and started a family of their own.
Here in Eastern Washington we’re blessed with gorgeous scenery, and I like to take full advantage of it, so I don’t bring a lot of props to these sessions. Instead I love to use beautiful lighting and the location to show off a pregnancy and the family’s love. This particular couple was so sweet. This was their first child, and the dad couldn't be happier about having a little boy. His excitement and laughter was infectious, and I wanted the images with the two of them to show that. She was just stunning, and I think the gorgeous light and beautiful river views reflect the serenity she possessed even as a new mother.}
Sandy Summers Russell is a former metro newspaper photojournalist who fell in love with a small-town farm boy. She married him, moved to the middle of nowhere, became a mom, and started Summerland Photography in exactly that order. Now, instead of shooting breaking news, professional sporting events, and heartrending human interest features, she photographs brand new babies, fleet-footed toddlers, and jubilant weddings.
