A Nursery Rhyme Inspired Children's Party | The Petite Soiree

We are delighted to end the week with an {adorable} Nursery Rhyme Inspired Children's Party thanks to Stefanie from The Petite Soiree. Her classic, whimsical design is PERFECT for your upcoming Baby Shower or child's First Birthday celebration. Stefanie shares the details behind her inspiration and design here:

I really wanted to take an untraditional, yet chic approach to the party design. I chose to do a grass green, baby blue, teal, yellow and creme color scheme for the party, in hopes of keeping it fresh and airy. I used a natural burlap tablecloth and yarn elements like the pom pom garland and hats – to keep the feel very warm and tender similar to the elements in a baby’s nursery.

Pavers created the wall and many of the elements like the life sized humpty that can be repurposed into a child’s room or nursery so that the theme can live on everyday for the child. My biggest challenge was creating a life sized humpty dumpty that could sit on the wall for this party. Originally a local sculptor created a matching humpty out of ceramic but unfortunately it shattered in the kiln. I was very happy to have found an artisan who was able to create this twin version out of paper mache in the matching colors.

A Zebra-Themed Twin Girls Baby Shower

Today we have a fun and colorful Zebra-Themed Twin Girls Baby Shower to share with you thanks to I DO Invitations by Michelle. Michelle styled this couples shower for 75 guests to honor her cousin that was expecting twin girls. I just {LOVE} all of the fun, vibrant colors and zebra patterns that were used throughout the event! There was also an amazing display of sweets and treats for all of the guests to enjoy including custom decorated sugar cookies from The Cookie Jar and coordinating cake pops from Lillycakes. Of course, Michelle added her own crafty touches and designs to go along with the zebra-theme. Photography was by Chelsea Corinne Photography.

I love how Michelle incorporated the invitation by placing it in a frame to display at the event...

The custom name sign was created by Michelle's husband and given as a gift to parents-to-be!

The pomander ball was made of glitter paper flowers pinned to a foam ball. It sat on top of a candle pillar that Michelle had around the house which she decided to decorate with matching ribbon to create a lovely centerpiece!

Outside, a clothesline was hung with an assortment of adorable zebra themed clothing and accessories from AMK's Boutique (with the exception of the heart onesies). There were also water bottles with custom labels and custom signage, including adorable little cut-out zebras that were placed in the flower boxes...SO cute!

"Bun in the Oven" Baby Shower by GreyGrey Designs

Today we're excited to share this AMAZING "Bun in the Oven" baby shower from Brittany of GreyGrey Designs. Since the parents-to-be did not want to know the gender of their baby, the color scheme of red and aqua was used to create this gorgeous gender-neutral event with retro style! The sweets table was styled with an array of delicious desserts and as you will see, Brittany added some creative {handmade} touches that perfectly matched the theme of this shower. Starting things off were these custom-designed invitations from Kristi's Printable Panache {who also created all of the other printables seen throughout the event}.

The beautiful handmade bunting seen in the backdrop of the sweets table was designed and crafted by the party hostess Erin, of Round the Bend Shop and Round the Bend Again. Brittany handcrafted the felt cinnamon rolls pictured below and used skewers with Pecan Rolls from Little Debbie snacks to create a tasty treat.

The cinnamon roll cake pops {pictured below-left} were courtesy of Mom's Killer Cakes and Brittany recruited her hubby to help create this adorable red oven using a Martha Stewart craft tutorial found here. Fresh out of the "oven" are these amazing cupcakes with coordinating toppers from Two Sugar Babies and red gingham cupcake liners from Hey Yo Yo.

Red and aqua colored candies were added to the buffet along with these delictable mini strawberry shortcakes for the guests to enjoy...

Look at this scrumptious lunch buffet complete with colorful decor...

Guests were asked to share a recipe for the parents-to-be and Brittany created a cute matching box to place all of the cards in.

For party favors, guests were treated to a cinnamon roll cookie from Kay's Simply Homemade to take home. Brittany used jelly jars to place the cookies in and dressed them up with some gingham fabric, cute ribbon and a label {designed by Kristi} on top of each jar that said "Take your own bun home!" The vintage toy oven pictured on the left was an etsy find from Little Beach Designs that was painted red to match the theme colors... {LOVE} it!

I'd like to thank Brittany of Grey Grey Designs for sharing this baby shower with us today and to all of the vendors that were involved with making it a truly inspiring event for our readers to enjoy - you are all AMAZING!
