A Beautiful Natural Maternity Session | Green Apple Images

Today we are honored to share this beautiful Natural Maternity Session from Green Apple Images. Photographer Jen Roberts gives us her insight on the session...

I have a huge appreciation for pregnancy and the entire birth process.  I have always thought pregnant women were stunningly beautiful.  As a former labor and delivery nurse I have been able to witness the miracle of birth many, many times and I always marvel at the strength of the female body.  I absolutely love photographing maternity sessions and documenting the beauty, bond and miracle that really comes and goes so quickly!  As much as I remember feeling less than glamorous during my pregnancies, I treasure the photos that I have now that that part of my life has passed.  

Aubri was absolutely radiant during our session.  She is gorgeous inside and out.  During my sessions I love the simplicity of a natural location and minimal props with a focus on my subject.  I encourage my clients to wear something simple and feminine and Aubri definitely did both!

Newborn Photo Session by Green Apple Images

Todays simply sweet newborn session was submitted by Jen of Green Apple Images. I asked Jen to share a few details about the session and here's what she had to say:

{Newborns are, without a doubt, my very favorite subjects to photograph. As a former labor & delivery nurse and mom to four of my very own miracles, newborn photography is like coming full circle for me....combining my love of the birth and newborn experience with my passion for photography. There is really no other time in life where changes happen so rapidly. I believe that photographs at this time truly are priceless.

My style of newborn photography is soft and tranquil. You won't find much fluff or wild colors or props on my website. I believe that newborns are pure perfection just as they are and my careful consideration and use of blankets and props is with this minimal viewpoint kept in mind. I work with these tiny people and respect their need for quiet, warmth and comfort. I delight in capturing their wrinkled feet, curling lashes, soft wispy hairs and precious features....and the special connection they have to their parents.

Caleb's session was perfect. Just an ounce shy of ten pounds, I adored photographing his delightful newborn rolls and his precious features. Every baby I photograph charms me with their unique beauty. I love discovering the differences I see within each of my tiny subjects. I work hard to nurture an environment within the client's home that is tranquil and calm for both mama and baby. This session was no exception and little Caleb slept peacefully throughout the session. I do believe his mama even caught a few winks herself as she was able to relax and enjoy watching the session in the comfort of her own personal space.

Woodland Creature Nursery Inspiration

Today's Woodland Creature nursery inspiration comes to us from Vanessa of See Vanessa Craft. One of her main ideas behind the design of this room was to create a space that would grow with her little guy and could easily transition to a big boy room while keeping it bright, relaxing and kid-friendly. I just LOVE all of the little woodland touches and how Vanessa included some of her own favorite childhood books to share with her son. My favorite item in the nursery is the homemade terrarium that was created using a glass container, rocks, some moss, tiny mushrooms and a momma/baby hedgehog pair from Etsy shop Doodle Bird - such a simple, yet adorable piece of decor.
